Meaningful Tattoos
“Erica and I went to a tattoo shop in DC after our engagement and got matching equality signs because equally is something that we strive for, and something we believe all members of the human race deserve. We have dedicated our careers and our lives’ work toward bridging equitable gaps, not only in the queer community and LGBT community, but also in the urban education community.
Erica’s red writing tattoo is Tibetan for “impermanence”. Buddhism is important to her. The concept of impermanence is important in guiding our understanding that we as humans are in a constant state of impermanence. The acceptance of this concept helps us find inner peace and guides us to better understanding of reality and our time here.”
“Your soul sings to mine. My soul is yours, and it always will be, in any world. No matter what happens. I need you to remember that I love you.”
